Where do you get your sea glass?

Smashed Seaglass is its own brand.  Living land-locked in Canada does not provide the beaches needed to comb for ocean-made sea glass; therefore, we upcycle damaged and unwanted glass to SMASH and turn into Seaglass. By making our own brand of Seaglass, we collect a greater variety of colours and near-limitless design possibilities.  

Is the coloured glass painted?

NEVER!  All the colour comes “naturally”; that is, by the means that any bottle is coloured through.  Paint limits the translucency of the glass and dulls its brilliancy.  

Do you sell the smashed sea glass?

We have received many requests to purchase our brand of Smashed Seaglass.  We take pride in Sourcing, Smashing, & Smoothing the glass to produce high-quality individual pieces for our designs.  In addition, colour rarity and quality can affect the base cost of Smashed Seaglass.  To learn how you can purchase Smashed Seaglass for your own projects, please contact us.  

Do you offer classes?

Yes! We are excited to hold our first DIY class on September 25, 2024. Check out the Callingwood Farmer’s Market to register to make your own one-of-a-kind window ornament.

Do you sell offline?

Yes.  We enjoy the in-person interactions at the summer markets and at Christmas time; You can follow us on Instagram for the dates & details when Smashed Seaglass Designs will be at the Saturday, St. Albert Farmers Market or the Sunday, Peachland Farmer’s Market in the Okanagan.  You can also find Smashed Seaglass Designs for sale at the Village Emporium Life Style Boutique located in The Village at Pigeon Lake Resort & Town Centre. What payment types do you accept?

You can pay in person with most major credit cards: Visa, MC, Amex, Debit, eTransfer, and cash.  For long-distance customers, similar payment methods may be accepted prior to starting a custom design or prior to shipping.

How much is shipping?

Shipping will vary depending on the size and/or quantity of designs purchased.  

Do you sell something other than Seaglass mosaic designs?

Yes.  We offer a nice selection of 5x7 greeting cards and 4x6 note cards sizes, which are printed in small batches.  Contact us if you would like to purchase any of our Smashed Seaglass products.  In addition, we offer:

How much does a Smashed Seaglass Design sell for?

Our pricing depends upon the size & complexity of the design (hours to make it) along with the cost & rarity of the materials used.  Some of our acquired glass, even though broken and unwanted, still has acquisition costs that are relative to it’s rarity & popularity.  Please contact us at info@smashedseaglass.ca to receive a price quote on any feature or custom design. 

Does the design come framed?

Yes.  Each piece comes matted and ready to frame.  I include the frame in the price; however, you have your own frame that you would prefer to use, we can arrange to remove the value of the frame from the price. 

What makes them sparkle?

We use genuine crystal rhinestones to adorn each Smashed Seaglass Design.  They sparkle like nothing else! 

How do I collect my completed piece?

Customers can elect to pay to have a Smashed Seaglass product shipped to them or may arrange for in-person pick up at the Alberta or B.C. studio, depending on the province of purchase.
